Stephen Chipman has been a member of Grant Thornton for 28 years and has held a number of key executive leadership positions. His assignment prior to being named CEO of Grant Thornton was CEO, Greater China Management Corporation, where he was responsible for leading the development and growth of Grant Thornton Services in China. He expanded Grant Thornton to 6 offices and more than 1600 people.

William Demchak

Senior Vice Chair, PNC Financial Services

William S. Demchak is senior vice chairman and head of Corporate & Institutional Banking for The PNC Financial Services Group. He is responsible for PNC's middle market and large corporate businesses, as well as capital markets, real estate finance, equity management and leasing. Demchak also leads the company's asset and liability management function and is a director of BlackRock, Inc.

GLCC Agenda Overview

On Wednesday, September 8 and Thursday, September 9, 2010, ACG chapters in Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, and Pittsburgh will join forces to stage the inaugural Great Lakes Capital Connection. This unique event will feature the following programs:

  • A four-hour DealSource gathering at Cleveland Browns Stadium Wednesday afternoon, during which investment banking firms and private equity groups from the Great Lakes region and beyond will have the opportunity to meet for half-hour conversations.
  • A Sponsor Reception cocktail event at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame early Tuesday evening.
  • An opening breakfast program on Thursday morning at the main venue for the event, the Renaissance Hotel, on Public Square in Cleveland.
  • Educational panel presentations during the day Thursday.
  • A Capital Connection featuring both regional and national private equity firms.
  • The Great Lakes Capital Connection brings together the opportunities from a region rich in deal flow, offering outstanding professional services and, within a 500 mile radius, representing the largest percentage of the US mainland population anywhere in the country.
